Guided tour of Osnabrück old town: between tradition and modernity
The culinary journey begins in the heart of the old town. We start at the statue of the lion poodle on the cathedral forecourt, then explore the cloister, stonework and other special features of the old town and move through Osnabrück's history(ies) in front of the Peace of Westphalia Town Hall and the city weigh house. We stroll through the cozy Heger-Tor district with its pubs, look at the Felix-Nussbaum-Haus and learn about part of Osnabrück's dark history.
Hilarious anecdotes, Osnabrück traditions and architectural features accompany us on our way through the Old Town. While we hear more about Osnabrück's special role during the peace negotiations up to 1648 and its pragmatic attitude to religion, we discover half-timbered houses and learn interesting facts about the role of the British army in the city's development.
We set course for the city's modern streets with their many cafés and immerse ourselves in the present. The whole tour is rounded off with excellent culinary delights and exciting insider tips. Get to know Osnabrück from its very special side with us!
