The Rudi Wernemann Rose Garden is a jewel among the rose gardens.
Brine air meets the scent of roses. A liaison for the senses.
If you ever thought a rose was just a flower, you will be thoroughly converted here. Roses are enchanting and capricious. During the flowering season, the abundance of colors and the diversity of varieties is like a floral flash mop. More than 6500 rose bushes and 200 varieties thrive in the lovingly and meticulously tended Rosarium. When the roses go dormant in October, the hard-working hands of the "Friends of the Rose Garden" association are still at work pruning and protecting them from frost. The more than twenty volunteers work in the beds every Tuesday morning from sunrise and are happy to provide information about rose care and cultivation. Questions from visitors are welcome breaks from the stooped posture of gardening.
