Hiking route 'Laubbaum' (Deciduous tree) (Neuschönau - Waldhäuser)

Stages:
Neuschönau - National Park Centre Lusen - Altschönau - Waldhäuser

Correct on the go – all the time:

• Beware of falling trees and deadwood! The use of the path is at your own risk. At strong wind please leave the forest for safety reasons!
• Path regulations in order to protect endangered plants and animals in certain areas of the national park
• Please do not leave any trash! Dog poop bags or handkerchiefs do not belong in nature either. Please help to keep our wild forest clean. Thank you!

Always ensure to have good equipment: card, sturdy shoes, something to drink, first aid kit, bad weather clothing

To return from Waldhäuser to Neuschönau, you can easily take the Igelbus (see public transportation note)!
 
The 'Laubbaum' (Deciduous tree) hiking trail can also be easily combined with other hiking paths to create a circular route!
Examples:

• Take 'Laubbaum' (Deciduous tree) to Waldhäuser and then follow the 'Hauptwanderweg' (Main Hiking Path) to the Tier-Freigelände (animal enclosure). Return to Neuschönau via the 'Rippenfarn' (Deer fern) trail.
• Take 'Laubbaum' (Deciduous tree) to Waldhäuser, then take 'Fichte' (Spruce) along the Kleine Ohe River to Altschönau, and follow the 'Bärenpfad' (Bear path) along Knottenbach back to Neuschönau.

 
Additionally, you have the option to visit the Nationalparkzentrum Lusen (National Park Centre) with the Hans-Eisenmann-Haus, the animal enclosure, the botanical and the geological site.
