The Witte family gave their name to the Heimathaus in Liebenau.
This typical farmhouse for the region, built at the end of the 19th century, was inhabited by the Dietrich Witte family until 1997. After extensive renovation by the Liebenau local history association, it now houses exhibits from the history of the Old Saxons and a variety of craft and household objects from the surrounding area dating back to the early 20th century. A forge has been set up in the garden.
Civil wedding ceremonies are also possible in the stylish ambience. Afterwards, you can toast the new marriage with up to 30 guests.
In addition, the historic wedding smithy is located in the garden of the Witten Hus - a small, newly built half-timbered house from the 17th century, in which the civil wedding ceremony can also be held (information: Samtgemeinde Weser-Aue, Tel. 05021-6025-0).
