The modern Hünenburg conference center is located between Uesen and Baden.
The lovingly restored stately Art Nouveau villa from the beginning of the 20th century is located on the steep slope of the Weser near the confluence of the Alte Aller and in the middle of a historic rampart complex. This rampart complex was built in the 11th century and has been largely preserved to this day. According to legend, the notorious pirate Klaus Störtebeker used the Hünenburg as cover for his ships around 1400. It is said that Störtebeker laid his masts below the Hünenburg in the oil harbor and used the dense trees as a hiding place.
Today, Haus Hünenburg serves scientific, cultural, political and economic purposes. And with a wonderful view of the Weser and marshes, bridal couples can say "I do" in this romantic atmosphere. A small reception (up to 60 people) or a subsequent celebration (up to 40 people in the house and up to 100 people in summer using the garden) are possible (information: Achim registry office, tel. 04202-9160568).
