The oldest memorial in the town of Achim dates back to 1877.

Design: Hinrich Meislahn
It was moved as part of the town's redevelopment and now stands in the town hall garden. The monument commemorates the soldiers who fell in the Battle of Langensalza on June 27, 1866.

Inscription on the monument:
"In memory of the good Hanoverians from the Landdrostei Stade, who died a hero's death on June 27, 1866 in the Battle of Langensalza for the independence of their fatherland and their ancestral royal house."
