Church

The "Christ the King" Catholic Church is one of two churches in the parish of Corpus Christi

Between 1945 and 1950, many Catholic Christians from Central and Eastern Europe came to Zeven, which was dominated by Protestants. For this reason, a Catholic church building was consecrated on June 1, 1948. The foundation stone was laid in 1952 and the church was consecrated by Joseph Godehard Machens on November 23. In 1956, an associated, independent parish was founded. Since 2006, the church has belonged to the parish of Corpus Christi and the independent parish of Christ the King was dissolved. Today, the Corpus Christi parish has just under 6,000 members.

The building was constructed according to plans by Josef Fehling. A rectangular tower juts out on the west side, housing a bell from 1516. The interior is quite simple, with a crucifix and a tabernacle on the back wall. On the right and left sides of the chancel are statues of Joseph and Mary.
