DonauTäler South Loops

The Danube is a proud ruler over the majestic nature of the DonauTäler, the cyclist's paradise in the heart of the Swabian Danube Valley. Sometimes, Her Majesty is close to her subjects, watching as they line the shores, guarding her and preparing her way. At other times, she can only feel the distant valleys bowing before her, creating viewpoints in her honor that mankind is allowed to use.

On the southern loop of this unique multi-day tour around the blue ribbon of the Danube, you will pass five of the seven thematic areas – Green Throne Room, Monastic Garden, Mill Courtyards, Nursery, and Water Games. Each region has its own special connection to the Danube. Let yourself be surprised by the diversity!

Places to pause and rest, where the eye can wander over the vast, enchanting landscape of rivers, floodplain forests, lakes, and moors, are a distinctive feature of the cycling realm of DonauTäler. They are mostly located on the grounded soil of Swabian Bavaria. However, the borders are fluid, just like the Danube itself. Paths and routes sometimes lead into neighboring Württemberg, as it's not about geographical boundaries but about pure nature for the cyclist. It’s about river enjoyment, flowing, almost effortless movement, scenic joy, and (bike) riding fun.
