Circular trail around the Fichtelsee
The legendary Fichtelsee is a popular excursion destination in the Fichtelgebirge. The former reservoir, which dates back tothe 17th century, was used to secure the dams for the construction of a leisurelake in 1986. The Fichtelsee can be experienced in all its diversity onwell-built, wide paths with a firm gravel surface or wooden footbridges. Thepath around the historic Fichtelsee leads over a wide footbridge through theFichtelseemoor nature reserve. Spirken and peat moss can be seen from the footbridge.You can visit the Jean Paul fountain via a branch path. The approx. 2 km longpath can be shortened to various lengths. The paths are surfaced with fine sandor wooden footbridges.
